I’m Emer Frances and I live in Northern Ireland, just a little north of Belfast, with my two dogs, Buster and Rosie…(if any of you has ever tried to get photographs of either dogs or children sitting this still and looking at the camera at the same time, you’ll appreciate the sense of pride I feel at this photograph!)
This all about building better mental health, grit, and resilience, and how to be generally happier and feel better about yourself and the life you have. One thing I’ve discovered is that either finding or creating moments of joy in every day is an important part of achieving that. Sometimes it’s planning in adventure and doing the big things, but more often than not, it’s little things – having a wee dance around the living room to my favourite song, making a cup of ‘fancy’ tea in a pot, taking a moment outside to appreciate the beauty of the world we live in, or just getting a take-out coffee in a re-usable cup and feeling the happy feels that I can afford to do that, that I live in a country where I’m both free and safe to do it, and at least I’ve not used a disposable cup – so that’s where the name has come from. The Spark of Joy.
